Moon Cheat Sheet: Your Cycle and the Moon

What phase of your cycle are you in right now - and how does it relate to the Moon?

3 min read

The menstrual cycle and the lunar month are two natural rhythms. Together, they can help a woman feel time, space, and her own inner movement more clearly.

Science is careful here: for some women the cycle at times falls in step with the lunar month — more often with longer cycles and away from bright light at night — but it is not a rule for everyone. The names “White Moon” and “Red Moon” come from modern cycle-awareness practice.

We created this Moon cheat sheet to help you connect these rhythms gently and listen to what your body and the Moon are showing you today.

New Moon - White Moon (30th lunar day)

A time of deep reset, quiet, and inner renewal. A supportive phase for rest, subconscious work, restoring your strength, and preparing for a new life cycle.

This may be a cycle of children, projects, or new meanings - anything still forming within you and asking for protected space.

Full Moon - Red Moon (15th lunar day)

A phase of strong outer energy and inner transformation. It asks you to balance what you give to the world with the resources you return to yourself.

This is a good time to reconsider your mission, creative service, and the honest question: where do I give from fullness, and where from depletion?

Waxing Moon (1st-14th lunar days)

Energy gradually builds. This is a time to find balance between inner steadiness and outer expression.

You can follow your desires, hold new ideas gently, and let fresh intentions ripen without rushing them into the world.

Waning Moon (16th-29th lunar days)

A phase of completion, cleansing, and release. The Moon invites you to slow down.

It is a supportive time to close what is unfinished, let go of what no longer serves you, and hear your inner truth more clearly.

In WooMoon, these two rhythms meet every day.

The cycle tracker connects your current cycle phase with the Moon phase, so your daily recommendations can become more precise and supportive.

You can move through the full spectrum of feeling through practices, metaphors, rituals, nourishing foods, and reflection questions.
